Greater Shepparton City Council will be undertaking shared path “remediation works” from next week, to paths which were damaged during the October 2022 flood event.
The council said it had received external funding to undertake these works to the shared path network across the region.
The works will take place from Monday, March 4 until late May 2024, at the following locations:
Monday, March 4 to mid-March: Princess Park at The Boulevard and Knight St, and Jordan’s Bend at the Balaclava Rd roundabout.
Tuesday, March 12, to early April: Various sections along the shared path between Shepparton and Mooroopna, Midland Hwy
Monday, April 8 to mid-April: McGuire Reserve (behind the Shepparton Heritage Centre Museum).
Monday, April 15 to late April: Goulburn River Reserve (Victoria Lake Caravan Park, Fitzjohn St, Shepparton).
Monday, April 22 to early May: Jordan’s Bend River Reserve.
Delays and detours are to be expected.
Pedestrian management will be in place to facilitate the safest route while works are taking place.
The shared paths will reopen at the end of each day.
The resurfacing works will improve accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists as well as enhancing access to the river and native bushland.
