A Melbourne-based consultancy will be awarded a lucrative contract to carry out road maintenance and resealing across the Moira Shire.
At last week’s council meeting, Moira Shire Council administrators passed a motion to award the $1 million contract to Primal Surfacing Pty Ltd.
A subsidiary of VSA Group and based in Laverton, Victoria, Primal Surfacing was chosen to lead road repair and spray sealing after an extensive procurement process by five local governments, including Moira Shire Council.
Council Chair Administrator Graeme Emonson said Primal Surfacing would represent the best value for money.
The announcement came following the release of this year’s Moira Shire community satisfaction survey results, which flagged road maintenance as a key concern of residents.
