Preparing for Christmas: Greater Shepparton City Council would like to remind residents of changes in opening hours for council services and businesses.

With the festive period looming, Greater Shepparton City Council would like to remind residents of changes in opening hours for council services and businesses.

Greater Shepparton City Council will close for the holiday period from 3pm on Friday, December 22 and will reopen at 8.15am on Tuesday, January 2.

Council’s customer service phone and email service will also be closed during this time. For urgent matters, residents can phone 5832 9700 and follow the prompts.

Council’s customer service counter will reopen on Tuesday, January 2, at 9am, with opening hours remaining from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

There will be no bin collection on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.

For two weeks following Christmas, bin collection days will be one day late; for example, if a bin is usually collected on a Monday, it will be collected on Tuesday, December 26 and on Tuesday, January 2.

This is also true for Fridays, in which bins will be collected on Saturdays.

Collection changes begin on Monday, December 25, in which bins will be collected on Tuesday, December 26. The last change will be on Friday, January 5, in which bins will be collected on Saturday, January 6.

The KidsTown Playground is open for all of the school holidays, from dawn to dusk.

KidsTown Dig In Café will be closed on Monday, December 25, Tuesday, December 26, and Monday, January 1.

On all other days, Dig In Café operating hours will apply, 10am to 3pm, seven days a week.

Aquamoves will be closed on Christmas Day. Hours on all other days are as follows:

Sunday, December 24, from 8.30am until 4pm.

Tuesday, December 26, from 8.30am until 7pm.

Wednesday, December 27, from 6am until 8pm.

Thursday, December 28, from 6am until 8pm.

Friday, December 29, from 6am until 8pm.

Saturday, December 30, from 6am until 7pm.

Sunday, December 31, from 8.30am until 4pm.

Monday, January 1, from noon until 7pm.

Mooroopna’s outdoor pool will be open from 1pm to 7pm seven days a week, excluding Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, when the pool will be closed, and New Year’s Day, when the pool will be open from 1pm to 5pm.

The Ardmona and the Shepparton Resource Recovery Centres will have their usual opening hours, excluding Christmas Eve, when they will both be open from 9am until 2.45pm and closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Council’s Long Day Care and Family Day Care services will be closed from 1pm on Friday, December 22 and will reopen Monday, January 8, with children attending from Tuesday, January 9.

Kindergartens and Occasional Care will close from Tuesday, December 19 and reopen from Monday, January 29.
