Creamer family thanks Benalla Health for wonderful birthing experience

Christmas gift: Charlie Creamer arrived on December 11, 2023 at Benalla Health. He is pictured with brother Oliver, sister June and parents Jacqui and Paul.

Jacqui and Paul Creamer love the maternity ward at Benalla Health so much that they keep having children just so they can go back.

Okay, so that’s an exaggeration. However, having Benalla Health close by made their birthing experience not just easy but memorable.

The couple now have three children, June, 5, Oliver, 3, and Charlie, was born on December 11, 2023.

“We could not be happier to have had all three in Benalla with the same doctor,” Jacqui said.

She said that while location certainly played a role in the decision to give birth at Benalla Health, there were many more reasons.

“It did give us peace of mind to know when I was ready, I could duck over to Benalla Health,” she said.

“But I also had all my prenatal appointments there, and the staff are just lovely.

“Cindy (Lowe) and Janine (Keast) were with me for all three births and have always been amazing.

“I’ve also had lots of other staff come in and out to say hi or help with something, and it feels like you’re part of the family.”

Jacqui said one area she wanted help was with breastfeeding support.

“They allocated a lady to me, who came in and was a great help,” she said

“For me, the whole experience was like a mini holiday. My husband and kids could come and visit, and I was looked after so well.

“One of the midwives was happy to take Charlie for a few hours so I could have a sleep.

“It’s little things like that that make a difference.”

Jacqui and Paul said they wanted to say a big thank you to everyone at Benalla Health.

“We are very lucky to have Benalla Health close by,” Jacqui said.

“We strongly recommend it as the perfect place to give birth.”
