Crews at MacKay St fire

Several CFA units, Fire Rescue Victoria and Victoria Police attended a fire on MacKay St, Rochester on Thursday, December 5.

Emergency services were alerted to a shop fire about 5.20am.

CFA units from Rochester, Elmore and Echuca worked to control the blaze, along with Fire Rescue Victoria crews from Bendigo.

No injuries have been sustained from the incident.

Three tenants occupy the building, with significant damaged sustained to these businesses.

MacKay St was closed from Gillies St towards the Bridge Rd roundabout, and has since reopened.

There are significant power outages at surrounding premises.

Investigators are on the scene and firefighters continuing to monitor the situation.

The investigation is ongoing.
