Converge on the Goulburn is returning for another year.

On Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13, the much-loved multicultural and First Nations festival comes to life in Greater Shepparton.

Community members and visitors are invited to join the two-day celebration and immerse themselves in the many cultural festivities, food, music and flavours on display at Victoria Park Lake, Shepparton.

Converge on the Goulburn will feature an extended event program with experiences, stories and activities for everyone to enjoy.

Leading up to a fantastic weekend, Friday morning will see the Children’s Food Bowl Festival at Victoria Park Lake, a free event celebrating the nourishing produce grown in the Goulburn Valley.

This family-centred festival will showcase the journey from farm to table.

Friday night at Converge on the Goulburn will feature an array of youth activations and performances from 5pm to 9pm.

On Saturday, from 5pm to 9pm, a variety of music presentations and performances will take over.

The festival showcases the exciting and diverse cultural range of art, food and traditions that make our region such a fantastic place.

A special martial arts demonstration called Kamitakane no bo-no-te from Shepparton’s Japanese sister city, Toyoake, will also be taking place on both Friday and Saturday nights.

City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said the festival was an excellent opportunity to bring the community together, invite our extended families and friends and celebrate our diverse region.

“Converge on the Goulburn is a truly unique festival for the region and the state, focusing on our people, culture and way of life,” he said.

“I highly encourage everyone to attend, sample some delicious food, have a great time and join this wonderful celebration.

“This is the perfect occasion to showcase our community.”
