A competitor in the AusCycling Masters Road National cycling championships was taken to hospital in a serious condition on Thursday, September 21, after a collision with a truck.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Dookie-St James Rd, Dookie, where a truck and cyclist collided about noon.
Police say the female rider was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
The driver of the truck was uninjured and stopped at the scene.
The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined and investigations are ongoing.

AusCycling issued a statement after the incident saying competition in the masters’ individual time trial had been suspended due to “a traffic incident involving a rider”.
“Police are currently investigating the incident, but have declared competition can resume on Friday and continue through to Sunday’s concluding criteriums,” the statement said.
“AusCycling is in contact with the injured rider’s family and club, and will provide support for those affected.”
The sport’s governing body also said it was supporting police and Greater Shepparton City Council as required to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
AusCycling said it would attempt to find an alternative date for completion of the masters’ individual time trial.
