Prepare to fasten your seatbelts as the 2023 Tocumwal Airshow is officially less than a month away.
To be held on Sunday, September 17, the Tocumwal Airshow is set to be the hottest event of the year.
This will be the third time the event has been held and Tocumwal Aviation Museum founder and owner Matt Henderson said the event was aimed at educating the public on local history.
“Its aim is to bring the history of aviation at Tocumwal to life,” he said.
To this end aircraft, both new and vintage, will be performing flying displays including aircraft which saw service in the Vietnam War and World War II.
Such aircraft will include the P-40 Kitthyawk, Cessna O-1 Birddog and Cessna A-37 Dragonfly.
“A lot of World War II aircraft will be there,” Mr Henderson said.
Demonstrations will include aerobatics, firebombing and crop dusting.
As well as action in the air, there will be a lot of things to do on the ground.
These include simulators, market stalls, antique and restored vehicles, kids entertainment and lots of options for food and drink.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to take helicopter joy flights.
Gates open at 9am and flying begins at 11am and finishes about 4pm.
Attendees are advised to bring chairs, picnic blankets and ear plugs.
Mr Henderson said the Tocumwal Airshow was a perfect day out for people of all ages to learn and have fun.
“There’s lots of stuff for kids and people to do,” he said.
