This year’s Goulburn Valley Country Music Festival caused such a stir, the inaugural event is coming back for another crack.
Leaving plenty of time to work on line-dancing skills and strengthening the vocal pipes for a bit of yodelling, the new date is set for Saturday, April 1 2023.
And though it coincides, it’s no April Fools, Red Hill Entertainment is preparing to release more information including which big names in country will make up the line-up.
Red Hill Entertainment co-founder Aidan McLaren said the festival is coming back “even bigger and better.”.
“I can't say much more than that at this stage, other than it truly will be a celebration of all things Country!” he said.
“There are also a lot of local people, local businesses and community groups involved in making the event happen and it's wonderful that it has been a success and lots of people can benefit from it in the future.”
The region’s first Country Music Festival kicked off earlier this year on Sunday, April 10.
As far as the eye could see, for one day only the Shepparton Showgrounds was awash with akubras, camp-chairs and good vibes.
The inaugural event was headlined by Lee Kernaghan, Casey Barnes and Brad Cox, along with a few localised acts to give it a rural touch.
On top of the acts, whip cracking demonstrations, market stalls and food and drink trucks were at the fingertips of cowboys, cowgirls and a specially designed Moo-ving country cow as well.
“We really couldn't have asked for much more as part of our first year event,“ Mr McLaren said.
