Shepparton and Mooroopna residents affected by the devastating floods in October 2022 have been encouraged to share their experiences through a written submission to the Victorian Parliament’s flood inquiry.

Member for Northern Victoria Wendy Lovell, who is a member of the Legislative Council Environment and Planning Committee overseeing the inquiry, stressed the importance of hearing directly from those impacted.

The submission closing date is Monday, June 5.

Ms Lovell said submissions could be as brief as two paragraphs or more comprehensive documents.

She also urged locals to attend public hearings scheduled for August, September and October in various flood-affected communities.

The hearings will be held on August 23 in Rochester, August 24 in Echuca, September 13 in Shepparton, September 14 in Seymour, and October 11-12 in Melbourne.

Detailed information, including venues and witness lists, will be provided on the Parliament's website, while submissions can be lodged at https://new.parliament.vic.gov.au/get-involved/inquiries/floodinquiry/submissions/
