Determined crew compete at Gundagai

Toc Public students in Gundagai (back, from left) Ivy Farrell, Elyna Ring, Kobi Jones, Marlee Burke and Lily Baldwin; (front) Brett Bird, Joel Harrison and Nina Crawford.

Congratulations to the runners from Tocumwal Public School on a fantastic effort at the Regional Cross Country in Gundagai last Thursday.

Eight students continued to work hard after both the school and zone cross countries and braved a freezing cold and frosty Gundagai morning last week.

They walked the course and were surprised by the cows that were milling around the track that they were to run on.

They continued to the second half of the track around the Gundagai Racecourse where the grass was thick and difficult to move through.

Although none of the students progressed to the state championships in Sydney, their dedication and sportsmanship was admirable to watch as they and their families all cheered each other on in their 2km and 3km races.
