Benalla Rural City Council is in need of a new chief executive.

Current chief executive Dominic Testoni has announced his resignation, and is set to start a new role as the director of assets and operations at Macedon Ranges Shire Council early next year.

Mr Testoni has served as chief executive of Benalla Rural City Council since 2019, and will be finishing up in January 2025.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Benalla Rural City Council, but the time has come for my family and I to move on,” Mr Testoni said.

“It’s been a privilege to work with such a committed team and to be a part of a community that deeply values progress and connection.”

Macedon Ranges Shire Council chief executive Bernie O’Sullivan said Mr Testoni’s extensive experience would be welcomed on his council.

“I congratulate Dominic on his appointment — we are really pleased to be able to welcome someone of his calibre to this key role in our executive leadership team,” he said.

“We look forward to welcoming him to council early in the new year, importantly allowing him ample transition time from his current key role at Benalla.”

Benalla Rural City Council will soon begin the process of appointing a new CEO, and said it planned to keep the community informed of the process.

Council said it would like to extend its sincere thanks to Mr Testoni for his dedication and wished him success in his new role.
