Don’t forget about traffic delays as school returns

Most school students are back in the classroom on Monday.

But remember, to get them there for the start of the day you may need to allow extra time in the mornings.

Greater Shepparton City Council’s Welsford St Redevelopment remains ongoing, with its fourth stage under way.

Commuters are reminded that disruptions in the area will continue and to allow more time to reach their destination. Where appropriate, use Watt Rd as an alternative route to Kialla and Shepparton.

With school and school zone speed limits returning, the traffic squeeze at peak times in the centre of Shepparton will likely worsen.

Be aware that Fryers St and Marungi St, near the intersection of both streets, is currently closed.

Completion of the stage four works is anticipated for March. The works are designed to improve traffic flow along Welsford St and will result in better traffic movement.

The council would like to thank everyone for their patience and co-operation.
