United: Cr Fern Summer and David Schier.

The Dookie RSL club will hold a special Anzac Day service on Tuesday, April 25, at 10.45am.

The event will mark the installation of three new flag poles at Memorial Park, Dookie.

The club appointed returned serviceman David Schier as project manager to develop three flag poles for separately raising the Australian, New Zealand and Aboriginal flags.

The fourth flag pole will have a unique flag displaying the Australian and New Zealand flag side by side with the phrase ‘We Will Remember’ — a fitting tribute to the day.

The project was funded externally to the club, partly assisted by a community grant from Greater Shepparton City Council.

Cr Fern Summer will represent council at the event and raise the Aboriginal flag for the first time.

Former City of Greater Shepparton mayor Jenny Houlihan will be the guest speaker.

Local schools will participate, and seating will be provided for attendees.
