A man caught drug driving and also driving without a licence has been fined $1000.

Scott Murley, 40, of Mooroopna, was charged with drug driving and driving while disqualified.

Murley did not appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court and his matter was heard in his absence.

The court was told Murley had methamphetamines in his system when he was stopped by police while driving in Shepparton on January 3.

The court also heard his NSW driver’s licence was suspended at the time.

Murley was fined $1000 and ordered to pay $131.50 in court costs.

His driver’s licence was also disqualified for six months, to start on June 3.
