Early voting centres opening

As the voting period starts, the Australia Electoral Commission is reminding all voters to plan their vote.

If people can vote on election day, then that is what they need to do.

Only if they can’t vote on election day they may vote at hundreds of early voting centres that will open progressively across the country from today until Friday, May 2.

Given past trends in early voting, the AEC anticipates almost half of all voters will cast their vote during the early voting period (a combination of in-person early votes, mobile and postal voting).

Voters casting their vote in the seats of Bendigo (including Rochester and Elmore) and Nicholls (including Lockington and Nanneella) can head along to pre-polling centres at St Mary’s Parish Centre, 222-230 Anstruther St, Echuca, or Bendigo Baptist Church (Novo Centre), 757 McIvor Hwy, Junortoun.

Pre-polling opening hours:

Tuesday, April 22 to Thursday, April 24 from 8.30am to 5.30pm

Saturday, April 26 from 9am to 4pm

Monday, April 28 to Thursday, May 1 from 8.30am to 5.30pm

Friday, May 2 from 8.30am to 6pm
