With much of Victoria on flood alert and heavy rains having battered the region since the new year, the Riverine Herald asked readers how much rain they had received recently.

The Facebook post, which had 95 comments attached since going up on Sunday, January 7, showed that much of the Echuca-Moama area got a significant soaking.

The following are just some of the reported rainfalls from residents on January 7 and 8:

Helen Shorten in Moama said that her area received 22mm.

Travis Hanson reported 14.5mm in Echuca West close to Twin Rivers.

Kerry Roberts reported 26mm in south Echuca.

Em L. Figgis reported 18mm in Echuca East.

Kerry Tyler reported 20mm in Echuca West.

James Hitchins reported 18.5mm in Echuca Village.

As flooding hits areas across the state, authorities warned people to stay clear of and never drive through floodwaters.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, Echuca will have a relatively sunny rest of the week.
