The Echuca Moama and District Agricultural Show is gearing up for a cracking return on November 9 and 10 at Campaspe Park Raceway, promising a ripper weekend chock-full of attractions for young and old alike.

Echuca Moama and District Agricultural Show Society president Allen Mathers said that at this year’s show, “There's heaps to see and do.”

“We'll have horses both days, dairy cattle on Saturday, beef on Sunday, dairy goats, and with any luck, a sheep display too,” Mr Mathers said.

Families are in for a treat with a swag of free activities.

“Parents should be grinning from ear to ear as the kids can get stuck into the petting zoo, pony rides, hair braiding or face painting, free portraits and a stack of other exciting stuff, all for free,” Mr Mathers said.

The show's bringing back the old favourites including sideshows, show bags, and a 'massive fireworks display' lighting up the main arena on Saturday night.

For the rev-heads, there's a ute competition on Saturday and classic cars on Sunday.

The pavilion's still the heart of the show with its displays and comps.

This year, they're calling on local schools and childcare providers to get involved by whipping up displays.

“The kids can have a crack at the student creations section in the pavilion, where there's a ton of categories to enter,” Mr Mathers said.

They've thrown in some new bits for the pavilion too, with scarecrow and Christmas tree competitions, plus a 'massive chocolate cake competition'.

The Rural Ambassador Award, aimed at getting young community leaders involved in their local show society, will be judged before the big event.

Sunday's line-up includes showgirls and showboys strutting their stuff on the lawn, along with a pet parade.

The doughnut-eating competition, which saw punters smash through over 300 doughnuts in 2023, is back for another round in 2024.

Mr Mathers gave a shout-out to the sponsors and advertisers, saying, “We're looking forward to everyone getting involved and hope the 2024 Echuca Moama Agriculture Show will be a ripper.”
