Echuca Regional Health’s $200,000 ‘funding injection’

Rebecca Tobin, Jessica Rodman, Karen Gadsdenand Lori Auld were amongst the nurses who have upgraded their qualifications.

Echuca Regional Health’s (ERH) nursing and midwifery workforce has seen its professional development given a huge boost with a funding injection of almost $200,000 in scholarships.

The scholarship funding has been supported through the Department of Health Training and Development program.

Rachel Shephard was congratulated by the Executive Director Nursing & Midwifery and the Chief Nursing Officer Maree Woodhouse for taking part n the post graduate nursing scholarship program.

The scholarship funding program has helped post graduate nursing staff take on clinical specialities such as aged care/gerontology, oncology, perioperative, emergency, midwifery, critical care, surgical, wound care and primary health.

The successful nurses of the post graduate nursing scholarship program were Lori Auld, Stephanie Watson, Darcy Harrison, Mikhaela Evans, Rhiarn Scott, Rachel Shephard, Jane Davison, Rebecca Benkovic, Lauren Thomson, Annie Deering, Shannon McClay, Natalie Retallick, Shanae Hales, Tracey Flynn, Kristy Wright, Taylah Morris, Elizabeth Bell, Denise Inwood and Ashlee Kennaugh.

Almost $200,000 worth of scholarship fund went towards nurses like Ashlee Kennaugh, Kristy Wrightand Rebecca Benkovic.

ERH supported by the Department of Health also awarded nurses Jessica Rodman, Karen Gadsden and Rebecca Tobin with scholarships to convert their Enrolled Nurse (EN) qualifications to a Registered Nurse (RN) Bachelor qualification.

The scholarship funding program is a multi-faceted approach designed to attract and retain registered nurses to Echuca Regional Health and build workforce capabilities to provide current and future health services through financial incentives and covering their out-of-pocket expenses.
