For those in Echuca, it is an all too familiar feeling as the town waits for floodwater to arrive.

Emergency authorities predict moderate flooding impacts in and around Echuca on the Campaspe River.

Some roads will likely be cut off and inundation may occur in some rural areas.

Residents were able to get updates last night from an online community meeting.

The online meeting was held at 7pm, after The Riv went to print, and was live-streamed on the Campaspe Shire Facebook page.

SES members were also door-knocking those residents that could have potential flooding on their premises.

Officials expect there will also be minor flooding from the Murray River as the impact from the Goulburn River is felt.

A ‘watch and act’ warning still remains for Rochester.

At a press conference Tuesday afternoon, emergency authorities said that Coliban Water had turned off the water supply in Rochester to protect critical infrastructure.

Services were restored on Tuesday night.

The Campaspe River had fallen below major flood level Tuesday afternoon, and at 5pm Tuesday was at moderate flood level and falling.

Those who aren’t from Rochester have been asked to stay away as clean-up efforts begin.

Late yesterday, Murray River Council advised that due to the recent storm events in northern Victoria, on advice from Murray NSW SES, they would be preparing to temporarily close the Moama beach.

On Wednesday, January 10, the amenities block, barbecues and loose furniture will be removed from the site in preparation for the potential rising waters.

The carpark will remain open and will be monitored by council staff for inundation, at which time they will shut the gate for safety reasons.
