Two cars collide head-on in Kialla street

On scene: Emergency services had to cut the doors from one car involved in a collision in Sanctuary Dve, Kialla, on Friday.

Two cars collided head-on in Sanctuary Dve, Kialla on Friday, May 12.

The two sedans, which were both believed to be travelling in opposite directions on Sanctuary Dve, collided at the Tobourie St intersection about 12.50pm.

Shepparton police Acting Sergeant Matt Walker said it appeared one car was on the wrong side of the road.

One driver had to be cut from his car by emergency services.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said one man, believed to be in his 20s, was taken to Goulburn Valley Health in a stable condition with upper and lower body injuries.

The man driving the other car was treated at the scene for a blood nose.

Act Sgt Walker said the cause of the collision was unknown.

Police were appealing for anyone who witnessed the accident and have not yet spoken to police to contact Leading Senior Constable Mathew Farren at Shepparton Highway Patrol on 5820 5777.

Anyone who saw any abnormal driving in that area around that time should also contact police.
