Event to showcase regional producers

The Made in the Murray Food and Drink Showcase is a new event series to showcase Murray regional producers that will be held in Yarrawonga on August 10.

Locals and visitors to Moira will be in for an exciting culinary experience with an event designed to showcase and celebrate local producers and their products.

The Made in the Murray Food and Drink Showcase event series, to be held in Yarrawonga and Echuca in August, is aimed at consumers.

It will provide a direct opportunity for the public to talk to producers and taste their locally grown and made offerings.

Murray Regional Tourism, in partnership with Moira Shire Council and Campaspe Shire Council, are delivering these activations to promote and increase local awareness and consumption of food and beverages made in the Murray.

Murray Regional Tourism CEO, Cameron Sutton, said this investment will elevate local producers to a wider audience, providing crucial support to our businesses and enhancing the overall visitor experience.

“This series will not only highlight the exceptional quality of our local food and drink producers but also drive economic growth and tourism in the Murray region,” Mr Sutton said.

"Our collaboration with Moira Shire Council and Campaspe Shire Council exemplifies the power of unified regional efforts. Together, we are committed to delivering outstanding events that celebrate local talent and foster community spirit."

Moira Shire Council’s Chair Administrator, Dr Graeme Emonson PSM said council is excited to be hosting a Made in the Murray Food and Drink event in the Moira Shire.

“The event will be a celebration of our agricultural industry and vibrant culinary scene,” Dr Emonson said.

“It is a unique opportunity for locals and visitors to experience the finest produce, artisan foods, and exceptional beverages that our region has to offer, all while supporting our local farmers and producers.”

Local farmers and makers have been encouraged to attend both events to broaden their exposure to consumers throughout the wider region.

The events will be held on: Saturday, August 10 from 10am-2pm at The Sebel Yarrawonga; and Saturday, August 24 from 10am-2pm at Radcliffe's in Echuca.

"This initiative is a crucial step towards positioning the Murray region as a premier destination for food and drink tourism. These events promise to deliver memorable experiences for attendees, highlighting the rich culinary heritage and innovative spirit of our region," Mr Sutton said.
