The Explorer’s Way driving trail tourist brochure was launched over a luncheon at Tahbilk Winery on April 18, with guest speakers Greg Ecclestone and Ken McIness.
The two historical experts describe the journeys of Hume and Hovell in 1824 and Major Mitchell in 1836 through Strathbogie Shire.
The brochure is a project of Nagambie Historical Society in collaboration with the Strathbogie Shire Council.
Mayor Laura Binks said it was fantastic to see so many people attend the event.
“The drive is designed to encompass most of the shire, in the steps of the explorers,” Cr Binks said.
“We hope many modern-day explorers enjoy the tourist drive which showcases so many beautiful parts of our shire.”
The event was part of the Australian Heritage Festival, promoted by the National Trust.
