The Moira Shire region will be showcasing some of its best culinary and produce options with the Murray Farm Gate Trail Expo.

The expo, to be held at the Cobram Civic Centre on Thursday, November 23, is the ideal networking event for those working in the tourism, hospitality, food and beverage industry, or those passionate about local produce.

The event will be attended by operators such as Tocumwal Chocolate School, Squires Winery, How Now Dairy, Rich Glen, Cactus Country, Byramine Homestead and Zankers Farm.

Attendees can view all the produce the local area offers, network with fellow enthusiasts and discover the diverse talents that make Moira Shire a great place to visit or live.

Moira Shire Council tourism manager Scott Williams has described the event as a great chance to show what the region is made of and to bring the community together.

“We’re so excited to get the industry together and sample some of the finest produce we have in the region,” he said.

“Anyone is welcome to come and connect with industry, we’re hoping people will see how they can work together and maybe stock each other’s products or collaborate to promote their products.”

Like all good expos, attendees can also enjoy coffee by Odessi and sample local produce.

The day will also have live demonstrations covering topics such as chocolate tempering, ricotta making and cocktail and wine tasting.

“The point of the day is to not only celebrate what we have in the region, but also to get inspired about what we can do in food tourism because there is so much potential here,” Mr Williams said.

“We’re known as the food bowl for a reason; there are so many great producers out there.”

The event will be held on Thursday, November 23 from noon to 4pm.
