Are you from the Goulburn Valley?

I was born in Shepparton and live in Mooroopna. My grandpa came out here from England and lived in Strathbogie.

What do you do with yourself?

I used to be a primary school teacher. I taught for 48 years, I really enjoyed teaching.

My husband, Patrick, and I are the full-time grandparents of eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and another is on the way!

What is your favourite thing about the Goulburn Valley?

There’s a great community — people are helpful and caring.

The Goulburn Valley offers a lot of things, including places like SAM and the lake.

What are your hobbies?

I am the vice-president of Probus (an association of retired people that provides them with various activities and opportunities while making new friends). We have a committee at Rodney Park Village; I am president of the committee. We organise activities within the village so something happens daily, whether it’s crafts or afternoon tea.

What piece of advice would you give your younger self?

Always look for the positives. Every day is a blessing and a gift. And have lots of friends.
