Participants in the 2023 Fairley Leadership Program recently took part in their Greater Shepparton Immersive.

This year’s theme was climate preparedness, and over two days, the activity highlighted key issues in various local industries and prompted discussion about how the Fairley Leadership participants could impact their regional communities.

The group was joined by local artist Tank and the owner of McKellars Picture Framing and Wall Art, Stuart Gowty, who ran an evening art workshop for the cohort on the same theme of climate preparedness.

“The art session with Tank and Stuart was a great reminder that sometimes we take life too seriously, and challenged me to get out of my head and let go,” 2023 Fairley Leadership participant Mel Floyd said.

Throughout the two days, the group was also joined by Fraser and Leanne Pogue from The Good Dirt, GV Health chief executive Matt Sharp and Goulburn Murray Resilience Taskforce member Samar Patel.

Foott general manager Zane Foott gave the group a tour of the company’s new site in Shepparton.

“The tour at Foott Waste really highlighted for me the potential for local companies to drive growth in our regions,” participant Charlene Donovan said.
