Cobram-Barooga has you covered for family fun at Easter

With top rated beaches, state-of-the-art leisure facilities and a laid back atmosphere this Easter, the Cobram-Barooga area has you and your family covered.

Cobram and Barooga are opposite each other on the Victorian and NSW border and sit directly on the mighty Murray River.

The area is ideal for camping, fishing or just kicking back and relaxing.

Thompson’s Beach is less than five minutes from both town centers and was rated the 12th best beach by Tourism Australia in 2022.

With toilet and barbecue facilities on site and a boat ramp suitable to launch recreational crafts, the beach is an ideal spot to spend the day.

Despite the October 2022 floods, all the national parks in the area are now open to welcome visitors and are a perfect spot for fitness and nature lovers.

These include Murray Valley Regional Park and Cobram Regional Park.

Other delights for visitors to Cobram include Manto’s Produce Providore and the Melbourne to the Murray Silo Art Road Trip.

For those wishing to put up their feet in NSW, you can’t go wrong in Barooga and the state-of-the-art Barooga Sporties.

With multiple dining options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, a full golf course, mini golf and multi-sport simulators which participants can use to play more than 30 different sports, Barooga Sporties has fun for the whole family and is ideal for those wanting to sample the gastronomical delights of the region.

Barooga Sporties chief executive officer Bobby Brooks said Easter was a special time and there would be live entertainment every day. Patrons can also experience the unique 1981 bar.

Barooga Sporties will also be hosting a golfing tournament throughout the Easter weekend.

“We have our Easter tournament that goes throughout the whole weekend. Friday and Monday is the stableford competition and Saturday is the traditional Easter Cup. A mixed four-ball competition will take place on Sunday. There is still availability to book through the pro shop,” Mr Brooks said.
