Woman dies in Nathalia crash

A woman has died in a fatal crash at Nathalia on Friday, June 2.

A woman has died in a crash between a car and truck at Nathalia on Friday, June 2.

The crash happened on the Murray Valley Hwy near the Barmah-Shepparton Rd intersection at 11.39am.

Police said a B-Double truck was travelling north on the Murray Valley Hwy and a car was travelling south.

A witness told police the car had pulled out to pass another car, before the car and truck collided head-on, police said.

The witness told police the truck driver attempted to take evasive action before the crash, police said.

The driver of the car, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

The driver of the truck, a 49-year-old man from Charleston, NSW, was not injured.

Police, ambulance, SES and Shepparton Search and Rescue attended the scene.

An air ambulance helicopter also responded.
