Festive fun coming to the streets

The Berrigan and District Development Association’s 2024 Berrigan Christmas Market night is fast approaching.

Friday, December 6 is the night. The main street will close from 5pm, and entertainment will start at 5.30pm.

There will be a special visit from Santa, market stalls, food stalls, spinning wheel and raffles.

For the children there will be a jumping castle and face painting, and local shops will be offering late trading.

Stall bookings can be made to DAWMAC on 5885 2382 or mail@dawmac.com.au, or to Marianne Whelan at mez.whelan@gmail.com. Stall bookings are $10 each.

Added to the evening is the Red Cross Fashion Extravaganza, which is in its 16th year.

All clothing is brand new from Australian and international labels, and available at massively reduced prices.

Friday night funds raised will go to the ARC Disaster, Relief and Recovery.

The Saturday fashion extravaganza will open from 9am-noon, and funds raised will go toward a palliative care bed for the Berrigan MPS.

The extravaganza will be held at the Men's Shed.

The Berrigan Red Cross Branch sincerely thanks all who supported the Red Cross stall held to coincide with the Berrigan Shire by-election on Saturday.

Winner of the signed Janice Graham painting was Sabrina Dalgliesh, second prize went to Alan Good and third to Lyndall Horne.

Funds raised will support the Finley-based Riverina Food Share to purchase Christmas hampers for those in need in our community.

The branch held its last meeting of the year last Wednesday, which was followed by afternoon tea to celebrate another great year.

But members will still be working on the Fashion Extravaganza, which will be held Friday, December 6 from 5pm-9pm and Saturday, December 7 from 9am-noon at the Men's Shed.

Thank you to John Lane and the Men's Shed for the use of the venue.

This year the group has a fabulous range of clothing and accessories for all ages.

The Red Cross Shop will close for the festive season at 12.30pm on Saturday, December 21 and reopen at 9.30am on Monday, January 13.

Branch members would like to wish the community season's greetings, and look forward to their continued support in 2025.
