Rochester will be welcoming Christmas with the Salvation Army’s Christmas at the Silos carols service.
The carols will be held on Christmas Eve from 5pm.
Santa will be making a special appearance and said he was really looking forward to the event.
“Tuesday night's going to be a fantastic night,” he said.
“There’s going to be fun for all the family, and we’re here to enjoy one another and have a great Christmas.”
He added that it would be a good year for Rochy, with everyone making it on the nice list.
“We have to go through and check it twice to be sure, to be sure,” he said.
“Rochester is all on the good list.”
The local Salvation Army band will be the main entertainment of the night and will be playing all the popular Christmas tunes and classics for all ages to enjoy.
As a new addition to this years carols, St Joseph’s Primary School will also be taking to the stage to sing some Christmas hits alongside the band.
There will be a free petting zoo and some giant games to help keep the children entertained.
A nativity scene will also be set up for attendees to take photos with and as a reminder of the reason for the season.
