Stimulating membership of the Red Cross will be one of the main outcomes of the zone 29 conference being held in Finley tomorrow.

Expected to attract up to 30 Red Cross members from across the district, it is the first time the Langunyah-Finley Red Cross branch has hosted the event since 2019.

Branch president Marie Steer said the annual conference is designed to “help the branches keep interest” and provide members with important updates.

There is also an opportunity to learn more about the local community.

Riverina delegates will tomorrow hear from Megan Norton and Kate Johansen from Red Cross, who will provide updates on administration matter and local emergency services respectively.

A special guest speaker will be John Hand, who will speak on the collection of Finley RSL Sub-branch memorabilia at the Finley RS Club.

And with the conference wrapping up by 2pm, there should be time for delegates to view the exhibition before heading home again.

The conference is being hosted at the Finley Golf Club, and members of the general public are invited to attend and learn more about the organisation.

For more information on the conference, or joining the local Red Cross, contact Mrs Steer on 0429 704 422 or 5885 2512.
