Members of the Finley community, including a large number of students, came together at 11am on Monday at the Finley Memorial Park for Remembrance Day.
They were there to honour those who have fought in conflict to give us the freedom we have today.
Finley RSL Sub-branch president Jeff Ward spoke of how, after the First World War ended, people hoped the Great War would be the last war - ‘the war to end war'.
But it was not to be. Two decades later, the world was plunged into a second global conflict.
“When we pause at 11am on November 11, we reflect on the price that Australia and countries around the world have paid through more than a century of war and conflict that followed the First World War,” Mr Ward said.
Fr Paul Lu addressed the gathering and carried out the Benediction before the Australian National Anthem was played.
Mr Peter Orro was once again the bugler for Last Post and Reveille.
