The region’s first ever Goulburn Valley Country Music Festival on Sunday, April 10, was a success if the sea of Akubras covering the Shepparton Showgrounds was anything to go by.

Country fanatics, young, old and in-between, came from all over to see country royalty of Lee Kernaghan and Casey Barnes take to the stage.

Those attending also enjoyed a smokehouse barbecue, mechanical bull, line-dancing and whip-cracking demonstrations.

News journalist Caitlyn Grant was among revellers enjoying the festival fun.
