Victorian recreational anglers and freshwater fish enthusiasts are in for a treat as the latest Fish Talk Roadshow event is set to come into town on Thursday, October 24.

The Fish Talk forums aim to raise awareness about habitat restoration and freshwater fish in the Murray-Darling Basin.

A range of speakers will share their knowledge in various fishing fields on the night, including John Conallin, John Cahill, Iain Ellis and Colby Lesko, and Gage Wright from Spin Wright Lures.

The forum will discuss recent conservation success stories, and share opportunities for individuals to contribute to restoration initiatives.

OzFish Murray-Darling Basin senior program manager Braeden Lampard said the forums are all about community.

“We aim to make these Fish Talk forums all about community, with the line-up of speakers providing targeted freshwater fish information, tips and fishing tales,” he said.

“We know that the community are keen to hear more about our native fish, and how we can continue to improve the waterways with effective conservation measures.”

The roadshow will run from 6.30pm to 9pm at the Echuca Workers Club.

It is a free community event with complimentary catering and lucky door prizes to won.

The event is an ongoing commitment from Victorian Fisheries Authority and OzFish and will be touring throughout northern Victoria in the coming months.
