Seymour is currently being hit by flash flooding, with moderate flooding expected over the weekend as the Goulburn River rises.
Whiteheads Creek is expected to continue to rise , but the worst is yet to come as the radar shows consistent rainfall forecast.
River levels are expected to rise between 5.3m and 6.6 m at 6.6 meters, which is classified as moderate flooding.
At 6.6m, flooding has the potential to affect about 60 residences, who have been contacted by Mitchell Shire.
The major flood level is at 7m.
On Wednesday alone 20 tonnes of sand and 800 sandbags were picked up from the SES sandbag collection point.
Three more loads are scheduled to arrive on Thursday.
Residents are encouraged to come and collect sandbags if they feel their property may be affected by flood water.
So far, the SES has been responding to road closures, water in properties and fallen trees.
Fourteen members of Hilldene and Seymour CFA have volunteered to help with callouts for fallen trees, while SES focuses on responding to flood damage and vehicles trapped in flood water.
To collect sandbags head to 115 Wimble Street, enter via Delatite Rd as Wimble St is currently affected by road closures.
