A 27 year-old Kyneton man who reportedly tried to run from police has had his driving privileges in NSW suspended for alleged drink driving.
Police tried to stop the ute the man was driving on the Cobb Highway about 4.50pm Friday last week, after it was clocked travelling 117km/h in a 100km/h zone.
After a short chase from Highway Patrol officers, the ute stopped at the roadside and two men ran from it.
They jumped a fence into nearby paddocks, and were found about 1km from the car hiding in bushes.
The behaviour of the men caused police to suspect the car might have been stolen, but checks revealed they had permission to use the car.
The driver was breath tested, with a subsequent blood alcohol reading of 0.167 being recorded at Deniliquin Police Station.
He was charged with mid range prescribed content of alcohol, had his licence suspended and ordered to appear in court.
