Foundry spotlights local artists

The Foundry Arts Market is on again with works from local artists on display and ready to be purchased.

The annual exhibition made its return on Friday, December 6 with the official opening held on Sunday, December 8.

Foundry secretary and artist Kristin Dyer said the opening night was a success.

“We had a great opening, about 60 people turned up. It was a great atmosphere and the weather was beautiful,” she said.

“The Arts Market is about promoting others in the region Arts and Crafts people in the region and gives them the opportunity to participate and show their works off.”

A total of 33 Foundry members had their artworks on display.

Many of the showcasing artists also attended the opening event and were able to answer guests questions about their works and artistic process.

There were also thousands of dollars in sales made on the first night, with over 40 different pieces sold.

Art lovers enjoyed a range of paintings, crafts, metal sculptures, weaving, prints and photographs.

The exhibition will be open daily from 10am to 4pm until Tuesday, January 28.
