Free pop-up cinema in Gunbower’s new park

Outdoor cinema experience: Families and visitors are welcome to come along to a screening of Sing 2 in Gunbower’s new Lions Park.

The Gunbower community welcomes everyone to attend the town’s pop-up outdoor cinema these school holidays.

At the new Gunbower Lions Park at noon on Wednesday, July 6, families and visitors can settle down to watch Sing 2 on a special movie truck.

Viewers are encouraged to bring their own food, chairs, picnic rugs, blankets and anything else they require.

A Campaspe Shire Council spokesperson said the Pop-Up Cinema program was a part of the Victorian Government COVID Activation Grant that council received.

Six pop-up cinemas have already been displayed throughout the April school holidays (Echuca, Lockington, Kyabram, Rushworth, Stanhope and Tongala) with the remaining two yet to show. This includes Gunbower’s cinema and one at Rochester on Friday, July 8.

A total of eight pop-up cinemas gives visitors and locals the opportunity to get back out into community spaces after several years of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions.

Anyone who would like to watch Sing 2 in a community environment is warmly welcomed for a delightful day of entertainment and fun.
