Growing kids? Shrinking waistline? New fashions on rotation?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, you’ve probably got clothing you no longer have use for cluttering the wardrobes in your home.

Change of season is the perfect time to clear it out, and Wilmot Rd Community Hub is waiting with open arms.

The hub’s third annual clothing drive is in full swing, ahead of its upcoming free clothing event.

It is calling for donations of clean clothing in good condition to stock the tables at the event so that nobody in need misses out on free clothing this winter.

People who want to donate can do so until June 7, by dropping items at the hub, which is in front of the Wilmot Rd Primary School gym, between 9am and 3pm, Tuesday to Friday.

Hub leader Sarah Pearson said this year’s drive had seen a good response since it opened on May 15, but still needed more donations of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing.

Blankets are also welcome, but the hub will not accept toys, books or homewares.

Everyone is invited to the free clothing event later in June, where attendees will be able to take as many items as they need at no cost.

Ms Pearson said clothing left over from the event, which has grown in popularity from 70 patrons passing through its doors in the first year to more than 160 last year, would be donated back to other community charities or places in need.

The free clothing event will be held from 9am to 3pm on June 20 and June 21 at the Wilmot Rd Community Hub at 84 Wilmot Rd, Shepparton.
