Are you 12-25? Do you love live music and events?

Would you be interested in learning about event planning and management?

If so, Moira Shire Council wants to hear from you.

Council is planning a big 2023 for the youth of Moira Shire and wants input to direct this year’s activities.

The council is seeking people aged 12-25 to be part of the FReeZA committee and is hosting multiple meet and greet sessions around the Moira Shire area.

Council is trying to build up FReeZA numbers after a couple of COVID-19 affected years and is excited for the future.

Moira Shire Council community acting manager Hollie Barnes said participation in the FReeZA committee was a great way for young people to connect and have a say in community matters.

“There (are) opportunities as part of the FReeZA committee to learn about all aspects of event management, and participants can improve both their professional and personal skills in a fun and welcoming environment.”

One of the big elements of FReeZA prior to COVID-19 was live music and entertainment in which council encouraged and assisted upcoming young artists.

Ms Barnes said council hoped FReeZA would get back to where it was pre-COVID-19.

“We are really excited to bring live music back into the community and to give young performers the skills and experience to perform in front of a live audience.”

The meets and greets are at the following dates:

Nathalia Community House

  • Monday, February 13 from 4pm to 6.30pm.

Numurkah Community Learning Centre

  • Tuesday, February 14 from 4pm to 6.30pm.
