Shepparton sweltered through its hottest day in more than a year on Friday.

It was also the warmest night of the month so far, with a minimum of 23.9ºC.

Shepparton can expect the hot days to continue, with daytime temperatures expected to remain above 30ºC at least until Sunday, February 26.

The heat isn’t expected to replicate what was seen on Friday, however, with the hottest day predicated to be 36ºC on Saturday, February 25.

The hottest February day in the bureau’s records for Shepparton was 46.1ºC in 2009.
