For a fun day out with your family, friends and community, there’s only one place to go – the Seymour Alternative Farming Expo next month.
The three-day event will host a range of activities, demonstrations and learning opportunities, including interactive animal exhibits.
Peter Hodge is returning with his camel rides for the 14th year and is excited to be back, bringing attendees a unique experience.
“It’s a very well-run event and country events are always nice,” Mr Hodge said.
“The Seymour Expo especially has a really good family atmosphere.”
He’s bringing along four camels this year, with the eldest camel, Roman, leading the pack, followed by Pretty Boy and the two youngest, Bam-Bam and Sid, following along.
The four are a fun pack to have, Mr Hodge said, with each of them having been in his care for a long time and all being very polite in personality.
For anyone looking to get their heart beating with excitement, the All 4 FMX is coming to the expo, showing off their motocross skills.
Throughout the event, people are welcome to wander over to Farmer Darryl’s Animal Farmyard for a calming and educational animal experience.
“We’ll have 80 animals on-site, including our deers, goats and their kids, sheep and lambs, chooks, ducks and ducklings as well my rainbow lorikeet,” Farmer Darryl Sheridan said.
“People can come into the pens, feed the animals, and brush them to learn how to care for them.
“We’re very excited to come back, we love Seymour.”
The Bunnings kids activity tent is also making a return to the event along with the Berkley Supertank, which demonstrates how fish are attracted to different types of lures and lure movements.
Seymour Alternative Farming Expo runs from Friday, April 12 to Sunday, April 14, from 9am to 4pm each day at Kings Park Reserve, Tallarook St, Seymour.
