Fun to end the term

Who will be chosen to lead Mathoura Public School in 2025?

The leadership contenders made their speeches earlier this week, but we will have wait until presentation night on December 16 to learn who has been successful.

The final week of term will be a busy one for students and teachers with a Christmas themed disco, Year 6 Wellbeing Day, involving a cycle to Picnic Point, a paddle boarding session on the Murray River and lunch at the Timbercutter Restaurant before cycling back to town.

The Year 6 graduation will take place on December 18, which will also mark the end of term for all students.

Mathoura Tennis Club has been delighted with what I believe has been its first year of junior coaching.

Twenty-five plus youngsters turned up each week, with smiles on their faces and racquets in their hands ready to learn and play tennis.

The club extends its gratitude to those who helped it all happen – junior coaches, the barbecue chef, all the parents who helped out, donated bbq supplies and collected 100s of balls each week.

Mathoura Bowling Club is also being thanked for the generous donation of meat for the group’s end of year barbecue, which was greatly appreciated.

Congratulations also go to Bindi and Jess who won the Christmas raffle.

So girls and guys – if you enjoyed this session keep your eyes open for the next round.
