Further arrests made over alleged Shepparton home invasion

Two more men have been arrested and charged in relation to an alleged home invasion at Sidney Crt, Shepparton last year.

Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit detectives have now arrested three of five alleged offenders they have sought over the alleged September 2, 2022 incident.

Police allege five men entered a house in Sidney Crt and two occupants, 33-year-old males, were assaulted.

Both were airlifted to hospital in Melbourne and one resident remains in hospital after receiving a life-threatening stab wound.

Shepparton detectives executed four search warrants at homes in Sunshine and Shepparton this week.

A Shepparton man, 22, was arrested on Wednesday, February 8, and charged with aggravated home invasion, causing serious injury intentionally in circumstances of gross violence, intentionally cause serious injury and intentionally cause injury.

He applied for bail at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, February 9, with a decision adjourned to Friday, February 10.

A Keilor Downs man, 18, was arrested on Tuesday, February 7, and charged with aggravated home invasion, causing serious injury intentionally in circumstances of gross violence, intentionally cause serious injury and intentionally cause injury.

He was remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court in May.

It follows the arrest of a 19-year-old Geelong West man last week, who will be charged on summons.
