On Wednesday, November 1, Bourchier St Primary School had its final dress rehearsal before its big production.
In their first production since COVID-19 lockdowns began, the senior students went big with their take on an Aussie Rock musical, covering hits from all kinds of Australian rock legends.
Teacher Dani Williamson directed the performance and said she was very proud of the students.
“It was a bit of a hectic day bringing 150 kids down to Eastbank,” she said.
“They had their last practice on the day and came back that night and got the show done.
“It went amazing, I’m so proud of all the kids they were incredible. Lots of nerves backstage before they went on, but afterwards, they were saying, ‘I wanna do it again; why did it have to end?
“It’s worthwhile as a teacher to hear those comments and see the kids smile.”
Over 700 people attended the performance that night.
“Nights like these really showcase the wonderful community we have at Bourchier St Primary School,” Ms Williamson said.
News photographer Megan Fisher headed down to Riverlinks Eastbank to catch the final rehearsal before the big show.
