La Trobe Shepparton’s campus was abuzz with activity during Orientation Week, as the Welcome Festival took place on Wednesday, February 26.

From 10.30am to 2pm, the event offered new students, both on-campus and online, a range of social activities, academic support sessions, workshops and valuable networking opportunities, all aimed at easing their transition into university life.

It was estimated that 80 to 120 students attended the Welcome Festival.

Throughout orientation, students were given the opportunity to:

  • Meet fellow students and start building their university network
  • Explore the transformed campus and get familiar with essential spaces and facilities
  • Connect with key university and community support services
  • Learn more about their course structure and requirements
  • Attend a ‘New to La Trobe’ online workshop for support with enrolment and timetabling

The event offered various food options, including food trucks, barbecues, coffee and gelato.

Entertainment was provided by a DJ, and students could participate in campus tours.
