Schools across the region saw students dive head first into the pages of their favourite books and embody the characters they hold dear to their hearts.

At Lancaster Primary School, the Thursday, August 22 roll call looked a little different than usual.

From Wallys, Willys and Wednesdays, to fairies, unicorns and princesses — Lancaster Primary was a library of books come to life.

The characters enjoyed a parade, showing off their costumes in front of families members and teaching staff, before a dance party kicked off.

For a moment in time, it was the only place in the world where you could see Harry Potter dancing with a minion.

Keep an eye out in next week’s Free Press for more Book Week fun.
