Dairy farmers arrived from as far afield as Germany, and as close as the neighbours next door, when the Vening family held on open day at their dairy farm at Hedley, South Gippsland, Victoria.
The Vening family — Peter and Lisa and their sons, Shawn, Jarrod and Trent — replaced their herringbone dairy with eight A5 Lely robot milking machines, on a greenfield site.
Since beginning the new operation on their dairy farm in May 2023, the family has hosted two discussion groups and a local aged care group.
They hosted the open day to enable people in their local district and further afield to view and discuss the new infrastructure.
