News Live blog, October 14: Premier Andrews in town, evacuate immediately Murchison, 4000 properties at flood risk in Shepparton, Mooroopna High ground: By 11am this morning several of Rochester's streets were cut off, including Ramsay Street (home to Rochester Bowling Club). This vehicle was on high ground in Elizabeth Street, not far from the community sand bagging site. All hands on deck: Business owners work hard to ensure the rising floodwater does not enter the newsagency in Gillies Street, while the IGA was completely sandbagged today. Primary problem: Rochester Primary School's George Street frontage was completely inundated with flood waters. Only 12 hours earlier the school had called on volunteers to assist with sandbagging of buildings. Prepared for the worst: Half an houir after this photo was taken, at about midday, flood waters were starting to reach the sandbag filled doorways of Moore Street businesses. Closed for business: Rochester's historic Shamrock Hotel and businesses in GIllies Street were closed to customers today as final preparations were made people began to evacuate the town.
