The doors at Campaspe Regional Libraries have opened up once again for the school holidays, offering a range of activities to keep the kids occupied.
On Tuesday, April 8, the Echuca library team hosted a stress ball-making workshop.
Beginning with the story Listen, Buddy by Helen Lester, participants were guided through the steps to create a stress ball from just two balloons and stuffing.
Karen Gamble brought her grandchildren Jedd and Isla Bramley to Echuca library for the first time.
“My grandchildren haven’t been to the Echuca library before,” she said.
“We’re first-time users and I hope to get them a library card today.”
Hailing from Lockington, where the library depot has more limited hours, making the trip out to Echuca is a good opportunity for the family to spend time together.
It is also important to her for Jedd and Isla to socialise during the school holidays, which these activities provide.
“I’d like to do the movie afternoon on Friday,” Mrs Gamble said.
“Get them out and about, and (have) other company with other kids, because we’re a small zone.”
Over the two-week break, Campaspe libraries will have a number of events at branches and depots, including more craft workshops and movie screenings.
In Echuca, scratch art, fidget toy-making and Easter craft are among the activities on offer each day.
Lockington depot has a dog lead hanger workshop on Wednesday, April 16 at 10.30am.
Tongala branch will host a fidget fish activity on Monday, April 14 at 1.30pm, and Lego and games on Tuesday, April 15 from 10am to noon.
